Yacht or hotel venue for an event in Dubai?

Short answer: Choose a yacht for 10 to 150 guests when the goal is the experience: clients, a team celebration, a launch or VIPs, with the skyline as the backdrop. Choose a hotel for more than 200 guests, a conference with heavy AV or an all-day programme. Many companies combine both: the conference at the hotel, the evening on a yacht.

When a yacht wins

A yacht wins when the goal is the experience itself: thanking clients, celebrating a team, launching a product to a select audience or hosting VIPs. The setting does half of the work, the group stays together and nobody leaves early. For 20 guests, an all-inclusive corporate yacht evening starts from AED 13,940 before VAT with Odyssia: the yacht for 4 hours, a menu by Executive Chef Leonardo Maltese, soft drinks, a service team and event management. When a hotel is the better choice

Choose a hotel for more than 200 guests in one room, a conference with a stage and screens, a programme that runs all day, or a date in the hottest midday hours of summer. Many companies combine both: the conference at the hotel, then the evening on a yacht.

What changes in the budget

A hotel usually prices per head with a minimum spend. A yacht is priced per hour for the whole yacht, then catering per guest, so the cost per guest falls as the group grows, up to the yacht’s capacity. Our pricing guide gives the hourly rates by yacht size.

Practical points for a yacht event

  • Every guest needs an Emirates ID or a passport on boarding
  • Boarding and disembarkation are part of the charter time
  • Choose a yacht with an indoor saloon between June and September
  • Plan the guest arrival: we send the exact meeting point and parking with the confirmation

Quick answers

Is a yacht more expensive than a hotel for an event in Dubai?

Not necessarily. A yacht is priced for the whole yacht per hour, then catering per guest. With Odyssia, an all-inclusive corporate yacht evening for 20 guests starts from AED 13,940 before VAT for 4 hours.

How many guests can a yacht event host in Dubai?

From a few guests up to about 150 on the largest event yachts. Above 200 guests in one space, a hotel or a venue on land is usually better.

What happens if the weather is bad?

The captain decides on the day for safety. Larger yachts have indoor saloons, and if the charter cannot go ahead because of the weather, the monies received are refunded less non-recoverable costs.

Can we combine a hotel conference and a yacht evening?

Yes, and it is a format our corporate clients often choose: the content at the hotel during the day, then the team or the clients on a yacht at sunset.
